Your Word is "Think"

You see life as an amazing mix of possibilities, ideas, and fascinations.

And sometimes you feel like you don't have enough time to take it all in.

You love learning. Whether you're in school or not, you're probably immersed in several subjects right now.

When you're not learning, you're busy reflecting. You think a lot about the people you know and the things you've experienced.

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

In February I ate my brussel sprouts (1 points). Last Friday I donated bone marrow to [info]womanofsalt in a life-saving procedure (300 points). In August I gave [info]johanna17 a Dutch Oven (-10 points). In March I helped [info]zerself hide a body (-173 points). In September I committed genocide... Sorry about that, [info]agrnmn (-5000 points).

Overall, I've been naughty (-4882 points). For Christmas I deserve a spanking!

Sincerely,
lulumai

So... as you may know our littlest man has a birthday coming up very soon.  You probably have also noticed the "Notes to Liam" that ms. [info]lightonthesill writes.  Well I take all of those and convert them to scrapbook pages and then send them on to the little man. He loves looking at the included pictures and i love  that he knows what we were thinking as we share all these special moments with him.

I have already filled one scrapbook and am compiling a second to send on to him somewhere between his birthday and yule.  If you are interested and game, I would love to have "Notes to Liam" from all of you who are in his life on a daily basis... short or long it doesn't matter... just thoughts, memories, reflections as the little guy turns 3!!

If you have any questions let me know... feel free to forward/cross-post as I'm sure I don't know everybody who loves the little guy.

thanks in advance and i look forward to reading the tales!!

Who are the best enemies we have ever had? According to David Brown in theWashington Post, they are the thousands of endogenous retroviruses that attacked our ancestors for millions of years. In response to their evil invasions, we humans have had to build our rough, tough immune system, which is one of the most amazing creations on the planet. Let's make this your inspirational metaphor for the coming weeks, Gemini. I urge you to welcome the opportunities that your adversaries are going to give you to grow bigger, stronger, and more beautiful.

What if the Obamas had paraded five children across the stage, including a three month old infant and an unwed, pregnant teenage daughter?

What if John McCain was a former president of the Harvard Law Review? What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating class?

What if McCain had only married once, and Obama was a divorcee?

What if Obama was the candidate who left his first wife after a severe disfiguring car accident, when she no longer measured up to his standards?

What if Obama had met his second wife in a bar and had a long affair with her while he was still married?

What if Michelle Obama was the wife who not only became addicted to pain killers but also acquired them illegally through her charitable organization?

What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?

What if Obama had been a member of the Keating Five? (The Keating Five were five United States Senators accused of corruption in 1989, igniting a major political scandal as part of the larger Savings and Loan crisis of the late 1980s and early 1990s.)

What if McCain was a charismatic, eloquent speaker?

What if Obama couldn't read from a teleprompter?

What if Obama was t he one who had military experience that included discipline problems and a record of crashing seven planes?

What if Obama was the one who was known to display publicly, on many occasions, a serious anger management problem?

What if Michelle Obama's family had made their money from beer distribution?

What if the Obamas had adopted a white child?

You could easily add to this list. If these questions reflected reality, do you really believe the election numbers would be as close as they are?

This is what racism does. It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes positive qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative qualities in another when there is a color difference.

Educational Background:

Barack Obama:
Columbia University - B.A. Political Science with a Specialization in International Relations.
Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna Cum Laude

Joseph Biden:
University of Delaware - B.A. in Hist ory and B.A. in Political Science.
Syracuse University College of Law - Juris Doctor (J.D.)

vs.

John McCain:
United States Naval Academy - Class rank: 894 of 899

Sarah Palin:
Hawaii Pacific University - 1 semester North Idaho College - 2 semesters - general study University of Idaho - 2 semesters - journalism Matanuska-Susitna College - 1 semester University of Idaho - 3 semesters - B.A. in Journalism

Education isn't everything, but this is about the two highest offices in the land as well as our standing in the world. You make the call.

Maybe you have never been able to fly before today, and maybe you won't be able to fly when November arrives, but I bet you can fly now. Due to the benevolent cosmic agitation that has been lightening your mood, you can probably, if you choose, soar over logjams, dance above dark clouds, and do loop de loops in your dreams. Am I merely speaking metaphorically? Yes and no. Is a spiritual orgasm "metaphorical"?

I got this from [info]lightonthesill  "Comment and I'll give you a letter; then you have to list ten things you LOVE that begin with that letter. Afterward, post this in your journal and give out some letters of your own.".

She gave me the letter "P" for Paris... cause she knows me so well...

1. Paris - probably my favorite city to date... 5 times I have graced its streets, and each time it feels more like home...

2. Pinot Noir - love me a glass with dinner...

3. Popcorn - LIVED off of popcorn in college... can't eat it quite as much now, but I still PARTAKE now and again...

4. Paw-Paw - what I called my grandmother growing up. She was a truly remarkable woman. And as it turns out Paw-Paw is maternal grandmother in Chinese...

5. Pineapple - my favorite thing on PIZZA

6. Paper and Pens - I love a fresh pad of paper, doesn't have to be fancy - just new. And when you get to write on it... PERFECTION

7. Photography - my current creative outlit... thesacredisinthedetails.blogspot.com has some examples

8. Poetry - my previous creative outlit... but there are still some poems that can move me to tears...

9. Purpose and Power - helping people find theirs... and using mine to the benefit of others

10. Punditkitchen.com - it pokes fun at politics and politicians... and often is just good social commentary... I recommend it to kill time...  http://punditkitchen.com/tag/democrats/

What's Sexy About Your Name

You are sexy because you are aggressive and focused. You love the chase.

You are very passionate and intense. You tend to become obsessed with whoever you're interested in.

You carry this intensity into the bedroom. You are a highly sexual person.

In fact, you can be a bit too much for some people. You demand a lot, physically.

You are very possessive of your partner. You definitely don't share.

You can get jealous quite easily. You don't like anyone else taking up too much of your partner's time.

But if you do not find an intelligent companion, a wise and well-behaved person going the same way as yourself, then go on your way alone, like a king abandoning a conquered kingdom, or like a great elephant in the deep forest. - Buddha
